National Tsing Hua University,The Institute of Sinophone Studies, is recruiting a full-time faculty member in "Chinese Literature."

I. Academic Specialization: Chinese Literature

II. Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. in a relevant field from domestic or foreign universities.
  2. Publication of three or more peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, or equivalent volumes. Unpublished works must provide proof of acceptance for publication.

III. Courses to be Taught: Newly hired faculty members are expected to teach courses such as "World Chinese Literature History" and "Chinese Literature Theory."

IV. Expected Starting Date: February 1, 114 (subject to completion of the university appointment process).

V. Rank: One full-time Assistant Professor or above.

VI. Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted by April 15, 113, 23:59 (Taiwan time).

VII. Required Documents (Electronic Copies):

  1. Application form (see attached document in Word format)

    • Personal information and publication list
    • Research direction
    • Courses to be taught and course outlines
    • Abstracts of representative works in both Chinese and English
  2. One representative work (published within the last five years) and four reference works (published academic works). Include full texts, and if not yet published, provide proof of acceptance. Abstracts in Chinese are required for works in other languages.

  3. Two recommendation letters (signed by recommenders, sent by mail or email directly to the institute).

  4. Teacher's certificate, current appointment letter, and photocopies of the highest education diploma.

For those without a teacher's certificate, attach the Ph.D. transcript, and teacher qualification review will be conducted according to regulations.

For foreign degrees, verification by the ROC embassy/representative office is required.

VIII. Submission: Submit the required documents electronically to sinophone@my.nthu.edu.tw with the subject "Application for Full-time Faculty - [Your Name]."

IX. Notes:

  1. Applicants passing the initial review will be invited to the institute for an academic presentation and discussion. Please bring the application documents, original and signed photocopies of diplomas, and five sets of representative and reference works. Travel and accommodation expenses are at the applicant's own expense. For scholars currently abroad, a video interview may be arranged.
  2. Application documents will not be returned. To retrieve them, follow the instructions below:
    • Domestic applicants: Send a pre-paid parcel for return delivery without cash or postage.
    • Overseas applicants: Provide sufficient postage in New Taiwan Dollars for return delivery.
